Fascia, Soffit and Guttering Installation

Fascia boards and soffits are fixed in accordance with standardised practice. All boards are fixed using plastic-headed A4 stainless steel nails of an appropriate length and secured to rafter feet, noggins and gable ladders. Old fascias, bargeboards and soffits will be removed (unless capping work required), existing timber rafters and supports will be inspected and any rotten timber will be brought to your attention, on approval the timber will be replaced with new treated softwood. Sarking (eaves) felt will be examined and if damaged brought to your attention for inspection and replacement options will be discussed. Eaves box ends are constructed and shaped to match the appropriate roof pitch.

Matching fascia/soffit joints and corner mouldings/trims are cut to suit. The mouldings/trims are fixed onto one plank end using solvent adhesive while the subsequent board is engaged in the cover by push fit, leaving a 5mm expansion gap between the boards. Bargeboards/gable ridge joints are made using an appropriate ridge joint with boards cut to the required angle. Internal corners are secured over fascia ends by using silicone adhesive.

Once the fascia board is installed, gutter brackets are fixed with stainless steel screws onto the fascia board. All down pipes are screw fixed to brickwork and joined to the appropriate soak aways or as per originally installed.
